Humans are very resilient.
How many times have you faced what you feared to be 'the worst' or close to it only to look back on it 1 year, 5 years, 50 years later and shrug or even laugh?
We are built strong and the unalome symbol is a visual representation of just how strong we can be.
Whether you're at the spirals and twists phase of your life, or you feel you've reached a calm straight, you know you have the power within to keep going.
The fading dots at the end of a traditional unalome represent the end of the journey, which some see as death. Put another way, they could represent the diminishing of our egos, as a natural result of facing life's trials.
And that is what the unalome symbol represents for me, the power to keep going in the face of destruction. To lose everything, lose your 'self', and come out stronger for it.
